linkous_ribble_morrisRibble Morris Linkous, 74, of Christiansburg, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. An employee of General Motors for five years, he was then employed for over forty-eight years as a Barber with Modern Barber Shop in Blacksburg. Mr. Linkous enjoyed farming, body and mechanic work on automobiles, as well as being a lay speaker at church. Son of the late Robert M. And Leathie Linkous, he was preceded in death by his brother, Troy Linkous. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Linkous; children and their spouses, Douglas Linkous, Dempsie and Kathy Linkous, David and Shirley Linkous, Doris and Barry Sheppard, Daryl and Stephanie Linkous; brothers, sisters and spouses, Herbert and Betty Linkous, Barbara Ann Barnett, Mitchell and Lois Linkous, Nadine and Rev. Phillip Martin ; 15 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two greatgreat-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 11, 2011 fsrrom 6 until 8 p.m. at the Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at the Merrimac Pentecostal Holiness Church conducted by the Rev. Phillip Martin and the Rev. Jerry Sloss, with interment in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The Linkous family is being served by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg, VA.
