Linkous, Ora H.

Mrs. Ora H. (Granny) Linkous, 92, of New Palestine, Ind., went to her heavenly home on February 6, 2010, to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born on June 3, 1917, to Silvester and Mary (Nelson) Harris, of Alum Ridge, Va. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mason Linkous; son, Leroy Linkous; sister, Sylvia Harris; and brothers, Guy and Howard Harris. She is survived by son, Jerry (Marlene) Linkous, of Greenfield; sister, Veldia Rivera, of California; and many nieces and nephews. Granny had six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Kyle, Zoe, Kayla and Braylon are the great-great-grandchildren and the fifth generation. Granny loved and cherished her family and friends. She worked at Stone’s Cafeteria in Christiansburg, Va., for 46 years. She was a member of Unity in Christ Church, Fountaintown, Ind. She loved to read, gardening and sharing stories with everyone.
