Linkous, Mary Jacqueline
Mary Jacqueline (Jackie) Linkous, 80, of Blacksburg passed away Friday, September 23, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Montgomery County, Va. on September 5, 1936 to the late William and Alice Snider Stanger.
She was a member of the Blacksburg First Wesleyan Church. Jackie loved to travel.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Allen Linkous, Blacksburg; daughter, Karen Leland, of Blacksburg; grandson, Jared Leland, of Blacksburg; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lonzie and Wilda Linkous, of Dublin, Bernard and Ellen Linkous, of Blacksburg, Roger and Amelia Linkous, of Blacksburg; numerous nieces and nephews; favorite pet, yellow; two special friends, Ara Gallimore and Faye Quesenberry.
The family wishes to thank her special caregivers, Joyce Thompson and Lois Ramsey, as well as, Amedisys Hospice, especially nurse, Terri Hash and the Blacksburg Rescue Squad.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. conducted Monday, September 26, 2016 in the Blacksburg First Wesleyan Church with the Rev. John Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Blacksburg Rescue Squad 1300 Progress Street NW, Blacksburg, Va. 24060.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
