Linkous, Margaret Hogston

Margaret Estell Hogston Linkous, age 82 of Pulaski, died Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Lewis Gale Hospital – Montgomery. She was born on August 21, 1934 in Smyth County, and was the daughter of the late Ruth Tolley Taylor and the late Otis Hogston. Margaret was proud to be a Registered Nurse and worked for over 30 years at St. Alban’s Hospital in Radford, and was a long-time member of the Pulaski Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Eugene Linkous, Sr., and her son, Douglas Eugene Linkous, Jr. She is survived by four daughters: Helen Graham and her husband Garry of Pulaski; Susan Goodykoontz and her husband Joseph of Parrott; Peggy Porter and her husband David of Ladysmith; and, Carla Linkous and her husband Samuel B. Stewart of Decatur, Georgia. She is also survived by a sister, Linda Ruth Taylor Catron and her husband Ernest of Chilhowie, along with 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 4:30 p.m. at the Pulaski Presbyterian Church, 975 Memorial Drive with Minister John Gess officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Interment will be private in Oakwood Cemetery.
