Linkous, Emmett Norman
Emmett Norman Linkous, 82, of Dublin, Va., passed away Monday, March 30, 2015, at LewisGale Hospital-Pulaski with his loving family surrounding him.
He was born Dec. 30, 1932, at Binkton Mines, Va., to the late Richard and Josephine Linkous. He was a member of the Little Creek Tabernacle.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Linkous; three brothers, Raymond Eugene (“Bub”) Linkous, Hubert Linkous and Berman Linkous; a brother-in-law, Ira Thorn Hill; and three sisters-in-law, Betty Robinson, Irene Atkins and Gladys Woodyard.
He is survived by his loving wife, Alberta Edna Linkous of Dublin; two sons and daughter-in-law, Emmett Linkous Jr. of Ohio, and Gilbert and Karen Davis of Dublin; three daughters and sons-in-law, Vicky and Tom Delota of Michigan, Tammy and Howard Milton of Dublin, and Sheila Davis of Dublin; two brothers and sister-in-law, Douglas Linkous of Dublin, and Melvin and Jenny Linkous of Narrows, Va.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Harold Kirk and Patricia and Allen Woodyard, all of Dublin; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate, Va., with Rev. Tommy Ramsey officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until service time Wednesday, April 1, at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will be at a later date at Butternut Ridge Cemetery, North Ridge, Ohio.
