linkous_dorsey_virginiaDorsey Virginia Linkous, 84, of Blacksburg, Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 17, 2010. She was born on August 20, 1925, the daughter of the late Watson Taylor and Bessie Cruff Linkous. She was also preceded in death by her cherished husband, Nathan Mosby Linkous; and her two brothers, Thomas and Clarence. She retired from Virginia Tech after 28 years of service. She loved ceramics and quilting. Mrs. Linkous was a member and served as Secretary/Treasurer of the Merrimac Pentecostal Holiness Church for many years, as well as serving as secretary/treasurer of Women’s Ministry. The church and its people were always a vital part of her life. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Debbie Linkous, of Salem; two grandsons and their wives, Ryan and Amy Linkous, of The Rock, Ga., and Benjie and Luisa Linkous, of Salem, Va.; and seven greatgrandchildren, Carey Sue, Mark and Becky, Nate, Emme, Elia, and Callie Linkous. The family wishes to thank her wonderful and very special friends, Lois and Malcum Woolwine, Bonnie Lawson, and Louis Whitlock, for their sweet and loving friendship during her lifetime and her last days. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2010, in the Merrimac Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Ryan Linkous and the Rev. Glennard Quesenberry officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening, August 18, 2010, at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg, Va.
