Reverend Chester E. Linkous, 89 of Draper, Virginia passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 19, 2018. Chester is proceeded in death by his parents, U.M. and Virgie Linkous, brothers, Oatha Linkous, Kenneth Linkous, Arnold Linkous, Geral Guy Linkous.

Sisters, Lucille Coalson and Elizabeth Thompson. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Edna Love Linkous, Son, George Linkous (Sheila) of Huntington, WV, Carolyn Howell (Chuck) of Draper, VA; Jean Keith (Danny) of Roanoke, VA. Brother, David Linkous (Donna). Grandchildren; Paige Linkous, Mikie Edmonds (Heather), Toni Steffey (Stephen), Joshua Keith (Stephanie), Adrienne Conrad (Hayley), Erin Viars (Kevin) Fort Chiswell, Scott Howell Turner of Hampton, VA.

He leaves behind 6 precious great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his special niece, Judy (Al)Stoots and many more wonderful friends and family.

Chester was a Preacher of the Gospel who pastored for over 50 years. He was the founding Pastor of Faith Bible Church in Pulaski along with many other churches in the New River Valley. Many folks have been touched by his care, generosity and most of all his dedication to the Word and the Gospel. He was a powerful preacher, teacher and soul winner. Chester was a Korean War Veteran and was part of a proud military family. He loved his time selling automobiles in the Pulaski area and hauling all of his children on the bus.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM – Monday, September, 24, 2018 at the Bower Funeral Home-Chapel, Pulaski with grandsons Joshua Keith and Michael Edmonds officiating. Interment will follow at the Southwest Virginia Veteran’s Cemetery, Dublin. The family will receive friends Sunday evening between 4:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
