Browder Mosby Linkous, 88, of Salem, died on Tuesday, August 21, 2007. Born June 29, 1919, in Cambria, he was a son of George Thomas Linkous and Maggie Catherine Knowles Linkous.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Frances Linkous. Mr. Linkous was a veteran in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater where he was a Sgt. in the 15th Field Artillery Division. He was a retired sales and service representative in the safety field and was a member of Melrose Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Connie Linkous Toven of Salem; his son, Don Linkous of Roanoke; his brother, Melvin Linkous of Roanoke; and grandchildren, Allison Linkous and Heather McBride, both of Roanoke, and Erich Toven of Salem.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 24, 2007 in the chapel at Evergreen Burial Park with the Rev. Larry Sprouse officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Richmond Office, 530 E. Main St., Richmond, VA 23219.
