Linkous, Barbara Jean

Barbara Jean Linkous, age 86, of Radford died Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery. She was born in Montgomery County, VA on September 29, 1928 to the late Edgar and Neil Linkous. She was preceded in death by her husband, Avery (Red) Linkous, and her second husband of ten years, Donald Barker.

She was a loving, Christian woman to her family and all the people that she met.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Rev. Delores and Tom Caldwell of Radford, Carol and William Turpin of Blacksburg; sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Buford and Bonnie Linkous of Blacksburg, Merlin and Darlene Linkous of Christiansburg, Melvin and Sharon Linkous of Blacksburg, Rev. Carson and Kay Linkous of Pulaski; sister and brother-in-law, Robertine and Bob Gravely of Christiansburg; brother and sister-in-law, June and Lucille Linkous of Riner; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wallace Yopp officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Tuesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
