William Martin Lindsey, 76, of Pulaski, formerly of Allisonia, died Wednesday, January 11, 2006, in the Pulaski Community Hospital. He was born in Allisonia on September 16, 1929 and was the son of the late Ceibert Moody Lindsey and Lillian Early Lindsey.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Ivery Webb Lindsey, Pulaski; daughter, Katherine Lindsey, Dublin; daughter and son-inlaw, Janet and Dr. Carl Hanks, Jr., Pulaski; grandchildren, Sarah, Suzanne and Carl (Chip) Hanks, III; sister and brother-inlaw, Hope Harman, Glen Allen, Va., Gayle and Bill Clark, Winston-Salem, N.C., Virginia Frost, Hendersonville, N.C.; nieces and nephews, Sammie McKeag, Billie Smith, Lindsey Green, Stephen Frost, Andrew Frost, and Lynn Bliss.

Bill attended Greenbrier Military Academy and Emory and Henry College. Afterwards he served in the United States Air Force for four years during the Koran War. He was plant superintendent at American Pigment and plant manager for Hoover Color for many years. Later he worked for the Virginia Department of Mined Land Reclamation.

He served on the Pulaski County School Board in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Bill was a member and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Pulaski and an active supporter of both Our Daily Bread and the Logos Program.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 14 from the First Presbyterian Church, 405 N. Jefferson Avenue, Pulaski, Va. with the Rev. Jeff Kackley officiating. The family will receive friends at the Hank’s home, 21-8th St., NW anytime or after the funeral service in the fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church, Pulaski.
