Lindsey, JoAnne Croye

JoAnne Croye Lindsey, 76, of Dublin, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Highland Ridge Nursing Facility. She was born December 21, 1939 in Giles County, the daughter of the late Lee Hudson Croye and Marjorie Croye Pyles.

She loved to read the Bible and was a member of New Village Pentecostal Holiness Church. She also loved flowers and had quite the green thumb.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Wade (Pokey) Lindsey, a grandson, Chance Beck, her brothers, Carroll and Bobby Croye, her sister, Lula Mae Porter and a niece, Judith Turman.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons & daughters-in-law, John & Sharon Croye, Christiansburg, Thomas & Sarita Lindsey, Dublin and Bobby Lewis & Tracy Lindsey, Pearisburg; her daughters & sons-in-law, Donna & Darrell Perkins, Pearisburg and Marjorie & David Martin, Dublin; her grandchildren, Jeremiah Stafford, Kayla Croy, Cristen Lawson, Rena Fields, Russell Martin, Lindsey Martin, Zachary Dao, Elana Dao, Brandon Perkins, Ryan Perkins, Breigh Lindsey and Tucker Lindsey; her great-grandchildren, McAllister Stafford, Makinnah Martin, Kaleb Sartin, Alexis Lindsey, Austin Ratcliffe, Jordan Lawson, Jaidyn Fields and Kenley Fields; her brothers, Junior Pyles & Nancy and Danny Pyles, all from Pearisburg; her sisters, Betty Thomas, Pembroke, Phyllis Jennings, Dublin, Mary Jane Guynn, Narrows, Ann Chambers, Pearisburg, “Boots” Chan, Maryland and Nannie Katherine Croye; special sister in law, Geraldine Croy.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with Rev. Alvin Trivett officiating. Entombment will follow at Birchlawn Abbey, Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 A. M. until service time, 1:00 P.M.
