Mary Elizabeth Croy Lilly, 93, of Christiansburg, died Saturday, November 24, 2007 at her home. She was born August 10, 1914 in Pulaski County, Va. to the late Brady Clifton and Lonnie Jordan Stafford Croy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oakley A. Lilly; her son, Larry Deaton Lilly; her daughter, Janet L. Knowles; her sisters, Margie McCoy, Lyda McCoy; her brothers, Ralph, Jennings, Garvin, Donald, Junior, J.D., Randolph (infant).

While living in McCoy she attended Centennial Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and after moving to Christiansburg she attended Christiansburg Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, quilting, and needle work.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, June L. and W.S. “Buddy” McCoy, of McCoy; son and daughter-in-law, John and Anita Lilly, of Christiansburg; son-in-law, Sam Knowles, of Christiansburg; grandchildren and spouses, Lee and Carrie McCoy, Leon and Betsy McCoy, Vanessa and Kenneth McCoy, Rebecca and Mark Matusevich, Steve and Amy Knowles, Susan and Dave Potts, Michelle and Rob Muttart; fourteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; sister, Pauline C. McCoy, of McCoy; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Warren and Juanita Lilly of Pearisburg; sisters-in-law, Lucille Lilly, of Salem, Elva Croy, of Burleson, Texas, Jewell Croy, of McCoy; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

The family would like to express their appreciation to caregivers, Carol Linkous, Nancy Puckett, Cinda McCoy, Nancy Scott, Sylvia Goff and Connie Shelton.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Jim Flaugher, the Rev. Holly Phillips and the Rev. Gary McCoy officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 176, Christiansburg, Va., 24073 or Mt. Mission School, 1 Hurley Street, Grundy, Va., 24614.

Friends may call anytime Monday and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., SW, Blacksburg.
