Liddle, Heath Nelson

Heath Nelson Liddle, of Blacksburg, Va., joined his Savior on Thursday, September 1, 2011. He was born in Akron, Ohio, on January 27, 1923, to Heath J. and Mae Davis Liddle. He was a member of the Alleghany Church of Christ. A 1942 honors graduate of Galax High School, he proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the Army Air Corps, 615 Bomb Squadron, 401th Bomb Group Eighth Air Force. He also served with the United States Air Force during the Berlin Airlift and the Korean War. He was a retired employee of Electro-Tech. He is survived by his wife, Billie Jean Huffman Liddle; daughter, Barbara Pack, of Blacksburg, Va.; son, Heath Nelson Liddle Jr. and daughter-in-law, Joan Liddle, of Blue Ridge, Va.; brothers, Harold Stamey Liddle and wife, Betty, of Saint Leonard, Md., and Larry Thomas Liddle and wife, Violet, of Wytheville, Va.; and grandson, Justin Daiber, of Tucson, Ariz. Memorial Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 4, 2011, in the Alleghany Church of Christ with Mr. Porter Riner officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday evening, September 2, 2011, at the McCoy Funeral Home.
