lewis_david_ulyssesDavid Ulysses Lewis, 81 years old, of Radford, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 17, surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was preceded in death by his mother Mrs. Julia H. Black; a special aunt Miss Agnes Lewis; and great-grandson, Desmond Smith.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 63 years Anna Pride Lewis; three daughters, Renee Lewis Akers, Radford, Rise (Frank) Nelson, Richmond, Rena Andrea Lewis, Roanoke; one son, David Antoinne Lewis, Radford; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandsons; one sister, Dena (Johnny) Bowen, Washington, D.C.; two brothers, Julian (Betty) Black, Front Royal, and Thomas Black, Washington, D.C.; and a host of cousins; nieces; nephews; and friends. He will be greatly missed by his family, church, community and friends.

His work ethic exceeds most. He retired from the Radford Army Ammunition Plant where he worked for 33 years. He also retired from the Radford Community Hospital where he worked over 20 years and Radford University where he worked for 10 years.

Services will be held on Noon Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Zion Hill Baptist Church at 780 West Rock Road, Radford, VA 24141 with The Rev. Eric T. Ramey officiating. Visitation will be at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be held in the Highland Memory Gardens.
