Lewis, Carla (Redbone)

Friday November 14, 2014, heaven gained an angel: Carla (Redbone) Lewis, 53 of Christiansburg, VA. Although Carla was born and raised in Virginia she spent a few years in Jersey City, NJ where she was also greatly loved.

She was preceeded in death by her father Carl Spencer Lewis Sr and grandaughter Charlie Lewis-McConnell.

She leaves to cherish her memory and keep her legacy going her loving devouted mother Myrtle V. Lewis; two daughters, Ashley L. Lewis (Radford) and Nikki R. Lewis (North Carolina); six brother’s and sister’s Kathy D. Lewis (Christiansburg), Linda Lewis Mills (Pulaski), Kimberly Raines (Columbus, OH), Carl S. Lewis, Jr. (Christiansburg) Michael Willis (Salem,VA), and John Haley (Radford) two grandsons D’von (Kaine) Lewis-Hairston and Demetrius (Bubba) Lewis-Hairston and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. In the words of Mama Carla “See ya later alligator…..”

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 1:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Schaffer Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1pm before the service at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg
