Lester, Inez Burton

Inez Burton Lester, 79 of Narrows, VA, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at her home. Inez was born in Giles Country on June 18, 1942, to the late Charles Everette Burton and the late Annie Nelson Burton. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Olivia Stowers and Margaret A. Richardson.

Inez was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sibling, aunt and friend. She was a Godfearing woman that shared the love of Jesus with those around her every time she had a chance. She will be remembered as a loving, patient, kind, generous and selfless woman.

She is survived by her husband, Gary D. Lester of Narrows, her daughter, Pamela Smith and friend, David Bowman and her one and only granddaughter, Mecalla Smith of Atlanta, GA, who she shared a special bond with. She is also survived by her siblings, Phyllis Hughes, Richard Burton, Chuck Burton and Wilma Stafford all of Narrows. She has two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Goodwin of Atlanta, GA and Janice Hammon of Vancouver, WA.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 1 pm at the French – Turner Cemetery in Narrows with Pastor Carl B. Belcher and Pastor Denise Kidd officiating. A guestbook will be available at the gravesite.
