Leighton, Lena Pugh

Lena Tea Pugh Leighton, 88, of Christiansburg, VA, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022, and is now in heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Posey and Ersula Pugh; her husband, Wilbur R. Leighton; and her son, Jerry Vest.

She is survived by her children, Larry Vest, Sherry Schoolfield, and Connie Cox (Michael); five grandchildren, Brandy Self (Quinton), Tra Hawley (Mandi), Charles Schoolfield III (Janessa), Travis Vest (Jennifer), Cheyenne Vest Maddox (Noah); and eight great-grandchildren, Dakota, Shelby, Conner, Quinton (‘Q’), Cassidy, Carter, Grayson, and Evan.

She was a member of Trinity Community Church. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and ‘Nana’. She was a godly Christian woman known for faithfully praying for her family and others.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 7, 2022, at Horne Funeral Home starting at 10 a.m. with Funeral Services immediately following at 11 a.m. with Pastor Michael Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.
