Lefler, Ellen Pugh

Ellen Pugh Lefler, formerly of Delton and Draper’s Valley passed away March 13, 2007 in Anchorage, Alaska.

She was born December 1, 1924 to Glenn and Ruth Pugh in Wytheville, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Lefler, in 1966.

Ellen, a long time member of the Church of God of Prophecy will be remembered as the pastor of the Delton CoGoP as well as the Midway CoGoP near Pulaski. She was active in the Anchorage Church of God of Prophecy well into her later years of failing health. In 1977,

Ellen moved to Alaska with her daughter, Arleta, to be near her son, Steve, his wife Betty, and granddaughter, Rita, all surviving. Ellen’s most recent joys were her great-grandsons, Jacob, 4 and Ethan, 23 months.

Funeral Service will be held Sunday, March 18, 2007 at the Mountain View Church of God of Prophecy in Anchorage, Alaska. Burial will occur at a later date beside her late husband in Draper’s Valley.

Other surviving family members include two sisters, Gladys Bryson of Dublin and Ruth Akers of North Carolina and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
