Lawson, Velma Cummings Gardner

Velma Cummings Gardner Lawson, age 88 of Draper passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010 at her home. Born June 5, 1922 in Carroll County she was the daughter of the late William Cummings & Partha Agnes Sawyers Gardner. Her husband; Clyde Haston Lawson, brothers; Grover & Carl Gardner and sisters; Ola Webb, Lila Gardner, Goldie Smith and Benoma Jane Lawson also preceded her in death. She retired from the former Paul Knitting Mills after 21 years of service and was a member of the Memorial Christian Church-Draper. Surviving- Sister- Emogene “Jean” Gardner-Draper, Several nieces & nephews- Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday at the Bower Funeral Home-Chapel, Pulaski with presiding Pastor Dwight Haynes & Rev. Johnny Howlett officiating. Interment will follow at the Draper Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Saturday evening at the Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski. Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski is handling the arrangements for the family.
