lawson joseph noblin jrJoseph Noblin (Buddy) Lawson, Jr., 71, of Dublin, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2011. He was an electrical engineer having retired from Kollmorgen with over 30 years of service, and a United States Army veteran, having served in Germany. He was an active member of the Fairlawn Baptist Church, where he served as both a deacon and trustee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Noblin, Sr. and Frances DeHart Lawson; and sister Sherry L. Duncan. Survivors include his wife, Connie Graham Lawson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deeann and Burke Kidd, of Kernersville, N.C., and Lisa and Rob Helmick, of Botetourt; seven grandchildren, Joseph, Abigail, Grace, Luke, Sara, Rachel, and James; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Curtis L. and Sandra Lawson, of Fairlawn, and Randall K. and Diane Lawson, of Dublin; brothers-in-law, Rudy Duncan, of Riner, and Thomas M. and Tita Graham, of Dublin; and numerous other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at the Fairlawn Baptist Church, with the Rev. Danny W. Collins officiating. Interment will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veteran’s Cemetery in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Fairlawn Baptist Debt Retirement Fund, 6758 Oxford Avenue, Fairlawn, VA 24141.
