Lawson, Jessie James

Jessie James Lawson, 87, of Peterstown, WV, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 16, 2017, at the Heritage Hall Rich Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rich Creek, VA.

Born September 4, 1929, at White Gate, VA, he was the son of the late Simon and Alice Lawson. Jessie was a member of the Church of the Brethren, Lindside, WV. He retired from Pulaski Furniture Company in Pulaski, VA, after 32 years of dedicated work. In addition to his parents, Jessie was preceded in death by his wife, Violet Sanders Lawson; one daughter, Jessica A. Lawson; one son-in-law, Johnny Junior Long; three sisters; and one brother.

Survivors include three daughters, Rose Mary Baldwin of Beckley, WV, Grace A. Long of Peterstown, WV, and Linda L. Long also of Peterstown, WV; two brothers, Ernest and Robert Lawson, both of Pembroke, VA; three grandchildren, Kevin L. Long, R. Edward Long and wife Honei, and Pamela L. Long, all of Peterstown, WV; two great-grandchildren, Angel H. and Gracelin H. Long; and close family friend, Janice Broyles of Rich Creek, VA.

Funeral Services will be 12:00 PM on Saturday, March, 18, 2017, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Rodger Booth officiating. Burial will follow at the Bradley Cemetery in Lindside, WV. Friends may call from 11:00 AM to time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
