Thalis Edward Lawrence, 83, of Radford, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2008. He was a member of West Radford Church of God. He was a retired Foreman for Radford City with 54 years of service and a veteran of the United States Navy in World War II. Survivors include his wife, Glada Wade Lawrence, of Radford; son, Richard Lawrence, of Radford; daughter, Jane and Lewis Gravely, of Radford; three grandchildren, Kevin Gravely, Crystal Thompson and Keith Lawrence; five greatgrandchildren, Courtney and Carrie Gravely, Haley and Hannah Thompson and Shawn Lawrence. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home, in Radford, with the Rev. James Walker officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, in Dublin, with the V.F.W #776 conducting Military Rites. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
