Lawrence, Mildred Hall

Mildred Hall Lawrence, 96, of Draper, Va., passed away on Monday, January 18, 2010, at Salem Health and Rehab. She was born in Patrick County on November 13, 1913, and was the daughter of the late Samuel S. Hall and Ada Cruise Hall. Mrs. Lawrence was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Jackson Lawrence Sr.; sisters, Bernice Ashburn, Melba Powell, and son, James E. Lawrence. She was a member of Draper’s Valley Presbyterian Church. Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Ruth L. and Bob Rider, of Vinton; sons and daughters-in-law, Samuel Clay and Charlotte Lawrence, of Draper, A.J. Lawrence Jr., of Barren Springs and Tommy Cruise and Mary Lawrence, of Hardy; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two greatgreat -grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday January 21, 2010, at 2 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. John Howlett and the Rev. Dwight Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in the Draper’s Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visiting will be Wednesday evening with the family receiving friends from 6 until 8 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, Va.
