Larman, Benjamin Kelly

larman_benjamin_kellyBenjamin Kelly Larman, 70, of Christiansburg, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Kelly was born on December 29, 1944 to the late William Edward and Nora DeLozier Larman.

He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Peggy Lousie Larman; his daughter, Kelly Lynn, of Christiansburg, Va.; and all ten of his four-legged friends.

Kelly worked for over thirty years as a project manager in the construction field with many different companies including the Radford Arsenal, Avis, and Thor. He was known for his ability to brighten up any room by his kindness and laughter. He loved movies, playing practical jokes, vintage cars, and going to car shows with his dear friends, George Martin and James and Sandra Simpkins. An avid Civil War aficionado, he spent many years taking part in the historical hobby of reenacting.

Kelly also had a love for the Lord as well. Faithfully studying the Bible, he visited local nursing homes to read to the elderly and even did Bible readings over the New River Valley radio airwaves.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday January 27, 2015 at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home Chapel with The Reverend David Rose officiating. Interment will follow at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin, VA with full military honors.
