Lang, Sr., Samuel Harrison

Samuel Harrison Lang Sr. (Sammy) of Christiansburg, VA departed this life April 15, 2022 at his home in the care of his family. Born on October 20, 1949 in Giles County, Virginia he was a son of Harvey and India Williams Lang.

Sammy retired from the Celanese Corporation and then went to Twin Creeks Mobile Home Estate doing maintenance until his passing. Aside from work, Sammy enjoyed his family; playing cards; and a good country song.

In addition to his parents; Sammy is preceded in death by his wife, Rita Lang; a granddaughter, Amber Ratcliffe; brothers, Lacy, Buck, Willie, Tommie, and James Lang; sisters, Norma Niece, Judy Lang, Mable Niece, and Thelma Collins.

Left to cherish his memory to their hearts are his daughters, Samantha Linkous (Ellis) of Dublin, and Ann Ratcliffe (David) of Riner; sons, Samuel Lang Jr of Christiansburg, and Michael Lang of Christiansburg; grandchildren, Jeffrey Ratcliffe, Jessica Ratcliffe, Samuel Barry Akers, Adam Linkous, Kenny Ratcliffe, and Travis Ratcliffe; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bertha Ratcliffe (Bill) of New Castle, VA, and Sue Cumbee of Rich Creek, VA; a special niece, Josie Foutz; and special friends, Doug and Nancy Hardymon, and Ronnie and Sandra Hardymon.

There will be a graveside service conducted at Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg, VA on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel in Pembroke.
