Earnest Homer Lang, 88, of the Hoges Chapel Community at Pembroke, departed this life Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Pulaski Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pulaski after a long illness.

Born in Giles County on May 13, 1920, he was a son of the late Fred Thomas and Anna Mae Farley Lang. He was a member of Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church at Hoges Chapel, was a devoted farmer and retired from Foote Mineral Co. as a heavy equipment operator.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, James, Archie, Junior, Rob, and Johnny Lang, a sister, Hattie Barnett, and two half-brothers, Lee and Paris Collins.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 64 years, Trula Wilson Lang; his sons and daughters-in-law, Earnest S. “Earnie” and Betty Y. Lang of Pembroke, Stanley and Sharyn B. Lang of Pembroke; his sisters, Lillian L. Breeden of Eggleston and Rosie L. Cressel of Radford; his grandchildren, Ricky and Angie Lang, Vickie and Wes Wright, Derrick Lang; his great-grandchildren, Rachael and Sara Lang, Makayla, Chris, and Austin Wright, River Lang.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
