amem_fishinghole.jpgJerry Lee Landreth, 58, of Christiansburg, Va., passed to the Heavens on Monday, December 1, 2008. He was preceded in death by his mother, Iva Vaughan Landreth of Marion, Va.; as well as his grandparents; and two uncles.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of 37 years, Louann; his beloved father, Samuel F. Landreth, of Marion, Va.; beloved brother and sister-inlaw, Kenneth Landreth and Marianne Kovatch, of Morgantown, W.Va.; and beloved brother and sister-inlaw, David and Seattina Landreth, of Newport, Tenn. He is also survived by his nephews, Matthew and Benjamin Landreth; his mother-in-law, Betty Schulz, of Princeton, W.Va.; and brother-in-law and his wife, Paul and Marylou Schulz, of Saginaw, Texas. He leaves behind his cousins and their families, Bonnie Whitley, Mary Ruth Young, Robert, Allan and Dahlgren Vaughan, all originally from Salem, Va.

He was a devoted husband, loving brother and son, gifted musician, fisherman and lover of life and the wonderful people who surrounded him. He will live forever in the memories of his many friends and coworkers all of whom were touched by his gentle soul, his love of the beauty of the world and his strong belief in the goodness and brotherhood of man.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 5, 2008, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg, Va. Services will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2008, in the chapel of Horne Funeral Home with a graveside remembrance at approximately 1 p.m. in Felts Cemetery, Galax, Va.
