Joseph Telly Landis, 78, of Christiansburg, Va., departed this life on Wednesday, October 28, 2009.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Barbara Faye Landis; daughters, Norma Jean Landis, of Christiansburg, Patricia Sleeper and husband, Scott, of Columbus, Ohio, and Elizabeth Conner and husband, Allen, of Pulaski; grandchildren, Jarrett and Amanda Landis, Stephen and Daniel Sleeper, Damon Akers, and Aubrey Conner; special pet, Daisy; brothers, Bill Landes, Pete Landes, Bob Landes and wife, Grace, and Frank Landes; sisters, Louise Salmon, Sally Duke and husband, JB, Frances Smith and husband, Gary, and Shirley Ray and husband, George; many nieces and nephews, and extended family and church family.

Friends may call anytime after noon on Friday, October 30, 2009, at the New Hope Church of God where the family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2009, at the New Hope Church of God conducted by the Rev. Roy Burton and the Rev. Don Scott with interment to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The Landis family is in the care of Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg.
