Lois Grace Long Lancaster passed away on April 16, 2023. She was born to Eb and Lizzie Long (Elbert and Lucy) on April 15, 1934, in Pulaski County, Virginia. Five years later, she was joined by her younger sister, Ruth. The two girls were raised alongside their older cousin, James, by their uncle and aunt, Glen and Susie Long.

Lois grew up in the country with many cousins to play with and aunts and uncles to look after her. Lois graduated high school from Draper High School in 1951 and then began an 18 year career buying clothes for a large retail store. She enjoyed this time very much and was proud of her accomplishments there.

Lois met and married the love of her life, David Lancaster in 1966. They had a short courtship, then married soon after as David had military orders to Germany. They enjoyed their 56th wedding anniversary this past February 22nd.

In February of 1970, Lois and David welcomed daughter, Julia, to their world. Twenty years later, Lois was thrilled to welcome a son in law, Mark, and then four grandsons whom she adored.

Lois lived a life of faith with strong values and beliefs. She loved to be in the presence of her friends and family and supported, cared for and comforted many as they ended their own life journeys.

Lois was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Kelsoe, and her cousin, James Long as well as many of her extended family. She left behind her devoted husband, David, daughter and son in law, Julia and Mark Schrader, grandsons, Jake, Jared, Joseph, and Jeremiah, nephews, Charles and Steve Kelsoe, and niece, Debra Kelsoe Rhinehardt.

Funeral service will be held at Chandler Funeral Home in Bridgton, Maine.
