Wilma Porter Lambert, 79, of Pulaski, passed away Thursday evening, May 1, 2008, in the Pulaski Community Hospital. Born March 17, 1929, in Sheeptown, Va., she was the daughter of the late Andy and Mary McGhee Porter. She was preceded by her husband, the Rev. Robert E. Lambert; and four sisters; and two brothers.

Wilma graduated from Jackson Memorial High School, received an associate degree from Wytheville Community College and continued her education at Radford University. She also supported her husband’s ministry as they pastored several churches including Fries and Lynchburg, Va., as members of the Appalachian Conference of the Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Surviving are her son and wife, Eddie and Jean Lambert; daughter and husband, Roberta and Rodney Cox; grandchildren, Crystal Lambert Walker, Scott Lambert and Chad Cox; great-granddaughters, Olivia and Tessa Walker; and sisters,; Lollie Jennings, Ruth Doss, Irene Woolridge, Betty Rupe and Maxine Dotson.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2008, from Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Darrell Alley and the Rev. Tim Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in the Appalachian Conference Grounds Cemetery, Dublin. Visiting will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Stevens Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
