Lorraine Sanders Lamb, 92, formerly of Big Stony Creek in Giles County, departed this life Monday morning, September 20, 2010 at Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek surrounded by her loving family. Born in Kimballton on March 23, 1918, a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Della Mae Brumfield Sanders.

She had been employed in nursing services at several facilities and was retired from Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg as Supervisor of Sterile Services.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Odie Lamb, a daughter, Janice A. Snider, her brothers, Raymond Sanders and Jack Sanders, and her sister, Frances Sanders.

As a young person, she worshiped in the fellowship of Olean Church of The Brethren on Big Stony Creek and attended the churches of her children when she was with them later in life.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Jo S. Lafon and her husband, Ted, of Pearisburg, Jessie S. Jamison and her husband, Alvis, of Pembroke, Jean F. Trenor, of Pembroke; her sons, Andy Richards, of Christiansburg and Brad Stump, of Christiansburg; her fourteen grandchildren; her seven great-grandchildren; and her one great-great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, with Pastor Rob Lough and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the services.
