Lafon, Otis Zane

Otis Zane Lafon, 82, of Guinea Mt. Road, Pearisburg, departed this life Thursday evening, September 27, 2018 in the care of Heritage Hall Rich Creek in Rich Creek, VA. Born in Giles County on January 30, 1936 he was a son of the late Baynard L. and Dolly Sadler Lafon of Guinea Mt.

He was a member of the Mt View United Methodist Church, a veteran of the U S Army, Viet Nam Era, a graduate of Eggleston High School, and had been employed as a truck driver at Celanese and Virginia Tech.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother The Rev O’Dell Lafon, his brother-in-law Barry Albert and his wife Retha Lucas Lafon.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved and devoted sister Dixie Lafon Albert; his six nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; his “adopted” sister Marie Holt; and a loving care family at Heritage Hall Rich Creek to whom his family extends a sincere “Thank You”.

Memorial services will be conducted Monday at 4:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow st., Pembroke with Pastors Eddie Kendall and Shahn Wilburn officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home before the services. Following cremation at Otis request his remains will be interred at the Anderson-Mt View Cemetery.
