Kytchen, Helen Otey

Helen Otey Kytchen, 77, of Blacksburg, loving wife and mother, died Friday, November 27, 2009 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was born in Sophia, W.Va., on January 30, 1932 to the late Gordon and Bertha Moses Otey and predeceased by her husband, John Henry Kytchen.

She is survived by three daughters and son-in-law, Brenda Cook, Debbie and Ronnie Lowe, Vickie Kytchen, all of Blacksburg; a son and daughter-in-law, Garie L. and Marlene Kytchen of Blacksburg; two grandchildren, Chris Price and Jeffery Lowe; two great-grandchildren, Brayden Jacob Price and John Richard Logan Price; a brother and sister-in-law, Gordon C. Jr. and Ruth Reid Otey of North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Nellie Piatek of Blacksburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 30, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary McCoy officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg.
