Kroeger, Robert William

Robert William Kroeger, 87, of Blacksburg, died Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Kroontje Health Care Center. He was born in Newark, NJ on March 30, 1928 to the late James Francis and Florence Neale Kroeger. He was also preceded in death by his son, Barry Kroeger, a brother, Neal Kroeger.

He was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Joan Kroeger; his son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Naomi Kroeger, Basking Ridge, NJ; a daughter-in-law, Carol Kroeger, Blacksburg; four grandchildren, Gretchen Foley and husband, Tim, of Durham, NC, Russell Kroeger, of San Francisco, CA, Ethan Kroeger and Dennis Kroeger, both of Basking Ridge, NJ.

A funeral mass will be held Friday, July 17, 2015 at 10AM in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A Roanoke, VA. 24018.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
