Knea, Macie Eva Oakes

Macie Eva Oakes Knea, age 97 of 1910 Warden Springs Road, Pulaski passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at Pulaski Community Hospital.

Born January 20, 1910 in Cranberry, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Lovey James Oakes & Betty McKinney Oakes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Knea, Sr., one daughter, Norma Elizabeth Canard and a sister, Emma Hawkins. She was a long time member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Pulaski. She was also a member of the “Crafty Ladies” Group.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with Rev. John Grimm officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, West Virginia. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bob White Blvd., Pulaski. Floral remembrances will be appreciated or memorials may be sent to the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1946 Medallion Drive, Pulaski, VA 24301. Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski is handling the arrangements.
