Kirk, Virginia Mae Ramsey

Virginia Mae Ramsey Kirk, 91, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away December 29, 2007, at Heritage Hall, Blacksburg, Va.

She was born November 2, 1916, in Mars Hill, N.C., to the late Charles L. and Willie Mae White Ramsey. She was a retired employee of Virginia Tech and a member of Belmont Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Kirk; three brothers, Charles H., John P., and Earl S. Ramsey; and a sister, Hazel R. Kessinger.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Paula K. and Jackie E. Davis, of Christiansburg; a son, Charles P. Kirk, of Indian Valley; four grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher and Jenny Myers, of Pilot, Angie and Brian McFarland, of Roanoke, Traci and Jason Hardy, of Christiansburg, and Kevin Kirk, of Radford; one special great-grandson, Micah Myers, of Pilot; a sister-in-law, Maudie H. Ramsey, of Christiansburg; a brother-in-law, Ira O. Kessinger, of Radford; and special caregiver, Debbie Kling, of South Bend, Ind.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Heritage Hall for their wonderful care and love shown to our loved one during this difficult time. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 1, 2008, at McCoy Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2008, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. James T. Bayne officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg, Va. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg.
