Kirby, Joseph Jay

Joseph “Jay” Kirby passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025, surrounded by his family. Jay was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Jay is survived by his wife of 29 years, Debra Kirby; along with his children, John and his wife Dreama, Shannon and her husband Mike, and DJ and his wife Kristen; as well as his 9 grandchildren: Jaydan, Brooklyn, Shaun, Alexis, Krysta, Shane, Chase, Dylan, and Ashley.

Jay is a veteran of the United States Army and Army National Guard. He continued his life of service through helping anyone who could use a helping hand. Jay loved his family unconditionally and enjoyed spending time with them hunting, 4-wheeling, swimming and making those around him laugh. Jay loved working in and around the house – there wasn’t a project he was afraid to take on. Jay was a man of faith who loved God, his country and most of all his family.

A celebration of life memorial will be held at 1:30PM on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the Community Family Worship Center in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Pete Dunford officiating.
