Fay Carrol Layman Kingsley, 69, of Blacksburg, died Thursday, August 3, 2006, at Radford Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born in Botetourt County, Va. on August 26, 1936 to the late Leonard and Evelyn Carroll Layman. She was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Cynthia.

She is survived by her husband, Clifford Kingsley of Owosso, Mich.; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Bill Powell of Christiansburg, Va.; three stepgrandchildren, William Powell, Jr., Elizabeth Mullins, Frank Powell, all of Christiansburg, Va.; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Corey Frazier, Kyle and Jacob Mullins; sister and brother-in-law, Dianne and Robert Mason of Phoenix, Ariz., Donna and Arnold Lafon of Blacksburg, Va.; several nieces, nephews, greatnieces and a great-nephew, and a special great-niece, Sydney Lafon, who enjoyed visiting Fay with special treats; and special roommate, Ethel Hylton.

Fay was a friend and inspiration to all who knew her. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 5, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Layne Board officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Virginia, 5001 West Board St., Suite 217, Richmond, Va. 23230. Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Friday, and the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg.
