Kingrea, Shelby Nixon
Shelby Nixon Kingrea, 74, of Floyd, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2012. She was a member of Floyd United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for 50 years. She was granted honorary membership in the Floyd Woman’s Club after many years of service. She worked with the beautification of the Town of Floyd with Christmas decorations and trees throughout the town. She was instrumental in obtaining thermal imaging cameras for each station of the Floyd County Fire Department. She worked with her daughter as a jewelry designer in their own business, and spent many years following her grandchildren to all of their numerous activities. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Charles Kingrea; one daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Richard Ingram; two grandchildren, Brian and Amber Ingram; her mother, Irene Nixon; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Denny Wells, Donna and Glenwood Martin, and Ravanal and Bobby Huff, one sister-in-law and spouse, Mary Alice and Syd Byrne. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, 2012, at Floyd United Methodist Church with Dr. Don Stansell and the Reverend Rhonda Hobbs officiating. Interment will follow at Jacksonsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Floyd United Methodist Church.
