Pauline Covington King of Shawsville, Va., passed away on November 23, 2014, in Berthoud, Colo. Pauline was born on September 2, 1930, in Buena Vista, Va.

She graduated Valedictorian from Parry McCluer High School in 1949 and moved to Baltimore, Md., where she met Charles Clinton ‘Pete’ King in 1952 and they married in June, 1956.

In 1977, Pete and Pauline moved their family to Shawsville where they spent 20 years before retiring at Smith Mountain Lake.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Clint ‘Pete’ King of Shawsville; and her sisters, Harriet Montgomery of Buena Vista, Elizabeth Dau, and Caroline Covington, both of Baltimore, Md.

She is survived by her children, Beth Dorsey and son-in-law, Ridge Dorsey of Berthoud, Colo., and Chip King of Rutherfordton, N.C.; and grandchildren, Jack and Ava King, Tristin, Kelsey, Kade, and Jeremiah Dorsey.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at Crockett Springs United Methodist Church in Shawsville from 10 to 11:30 a.m. with the Memorial Service to commence at noon. Online condolences may be left by visiting www.hornefuneralservice.com.
