Kinder, Lee

Lee Kinder, 66, of Wolf Creek Road, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007 in Giles County, Va.

Born in Kentucky, he was a son of the late Oliver and Ethel Ramey Kinder. He was a disabled coal miner and a member of the Mountain View Old Regular Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Kinder; mother and father-in-law, Linkous and Dorothy Yates.

Survivors include his wife, Minnie; three sons, Keith (Michelle) Kinder and Joseph Allen Kinder both of Narrows, and Zandle Lee (Stacy) Kinder of Charlotte, Va.; three daughters, Melissa Ann (Ricky) Slone of Statesville, N.C., Melody Sue (Timothy) Bowles of Narrows, and Josephine (Marty) Griffin of Hillsville, Va.; 12 grandchildren; three brothers, Neil Kinder of Parisburg, Va., Roy Kinder of Mouthcard, Ky., and Zack Kinder of Lucus, Ky.; two sisters, Lavada Sexton of Vansant, Va. and Linda Davis of Kentucky.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007 at the Mountain View Old Regular Baptist Church with Elders Andy Deel, Toy Looney, Mark Justice and Jimmy Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in the Yates Cemetery, Haysi, Va.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Bowles, Ricky Slone, Marty Griffin, Brian Hargett, Merlon Deel, Matt Woods, Percy Coleman, Cody Irson, Cledith Hackney and Arnold Deel.

The family will receive friends after 5:00 p.m. on today, Friday, Jan. 5, at the church where an evening service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
