Velma Faye Killen, 72 of Dublin, died December 6, 2017. She was born on September 9, 1939 in Pulaski, and was the daughter of the late Lucy McFall Thornton and Jesse James Thornton. Preceded in death by her parents and 4 sisters, Mary Greene, Lucille Curnutte, Nellie Cruff, and Ilene McFall. Survived by 2 brothers: Vernon R. Thornton and his wife Beverly of Dublin, and Jesse James Thornton, Jr. and his wife Juanita of Lyman, SC. Services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery.
