Keyes, Dorothy Virginia

Dorothy V. (Dot) Keyes, of Christiansburg, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 8, 2012. She was born June 6, 1926. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry H. Keyes; her mother, Leona B. Keen; and her father, Jonas W. Keen. She is survived by her son, George W. (Butch) Keyes and wife, Debbie; two daughters, Myra A. Cromer and husband, Randy, and Teresa K. Hixon and husband, David, all of Christiansburg. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and her special cat, Bandit. She was a member of Open Door Baptist Church, where she loved serving the Lord! The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2012, at Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2012, at Open Door Baptist Church, Christiansburg, with Pastor Mike Johnston and the Rev. Raymond Klaiber officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Dot’s memory to Open Door Baptist Church, P.O.
