kessinger_lillie_farleyLillie Mae Farley Kessinger, 74, of Interior in Giles County, Va., departed this life, Tuesday afternoon, February 15, 2011, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke after a long illness. She was born in Newport on December 4, 1936. Lillie attended The Church of God of Prophecy in Pearisburg. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margie Farley; her brother, Raymond Farley; and her sister, Nancy Smith. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 48 years, James R. Kessinger; her son, James N. Kessinger and his girlfriend, Patsy Thompson, of Goldbond; her daughter and son-in-law, Terry and David Martin, of Goldbond; her brother, Billy Joe and his wife, Frances Farley, of Pearisburg; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Polly and Eukey Spicer, of Narrows, Peggy and Don Law, of Pearisburg, Shirley and Chuck East, of Wolf Creek; her granddaughter, Brooke Cornett, of Wytheville; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Kessinger, of Buena Vista. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, 2 p.m. in The Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with Pastor Bill Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Kessinger Family Cemetery at Interior. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. Lillie’s family would like to especially thank the staff at Giles Dialysis Center in Pearisburg, for everything they have done for her over the years; she loved each and everyone of them dearly.
