kinkdae-garden-gateBeverly Iris Taylor Kerr, 68, of Kerr Lane in Eggleston, departed this life Thursday afternoon, May 22, 2014 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA after a short bout with cancer. Born in Kinston, NC on December 06, 1945 she was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Beverly Ammons Taylor. Beverly was a talented accountant having been retired as operations officer for Dominion Bank in Pearisburg and having worked for several other businesses and the Federal Government, faithfully supported her husband’s career in the U S Navy, and was serving on the Board of Directors for Pem-Tel in Pembroke. She was a member of Eggleston United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her sister Cathy Miller.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of almost 50 years, Wayne D. Kerr; her son Charles D. Kerr of Maybrook; her daughter Valarie Hobbs of Bedford; her grandchildren Franklin Kerr of Christiansburg, Jake Hobbs and Kallie Hobbs of Bedford; her brothers Charles Taylor of Pink Hill, NC and Bernie Taylor of Newport News; her sisters Tanya Cook of Richmond and Jo Ann Snook of Syracuse, NY; and a host of good friends, neighbors and relatives.

At Beverly’s request her body has been cremated and her cremains will be scattered at the Atlantic Ocean and New River, with no public visitation time or funeral services. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Eggleston United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be sent by visiting
