Kennon, Gerald Wayne

Gerald Wayne Kennon (Pawpaw), 65, of New River, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016. He was a Vietnam Veteran, born in Reidsville, N.C. on September 24, 1951. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Elaine and John Bradsher, and father-in-law, George Shaw.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 28 years, Louise Shaw Kennon ; two sons, Scott Kennon and Aaron Kennon; three step-daughters and their spouses, Tasha and Travis Cox, Stephanie and Mark Lucas, and Toby and Ricky Riggins; 6 grandchildren, Jacob, Makayla, Megan, Kaitlin, Josh and Haley; mother-in-law, Margaret Shaw; sister-in-law, Cindy Vicars; brother-in-law and his wife, Mike and Kathy Shaw; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to thank the Pulaski County Sherriff’s Department and REMSI.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2016 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Pastor Jamey Hutton officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Burial Park in Dublin.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
