Thomas Edward Kennelly died Tuesday, May 30, 2006 in Blacksburg. Born in Chicago on May 13, 1917, he was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Margaret (Walsh) Kennelly; and his siblings, John Patrick, Mary McNabb, Joan and Margaret Patricia Hogan.

He earned a MS in political science from the University of Chicago and was a long time resident of Hyde Park in Chicago. He retired as vice president of the American School of Correspondence in 1998 to care for his wife, Carlotta.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Carlotta; brother, Martin Jerome; daughters, Carlotta Frances Lough and Tamara; grandchildren, John (Heather) Lough, Shannon (Andrew) Ragonesi, Kerry (Vincente) Guiseppe, and Francis Green; and great-grandchildren, Grace and Sarah Lough and Sean Ragonesi.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s in Blacksburg on Friday, June 2, 2006 at 11:15 a.m. with a viewing at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW., Blacksburg.
