Kennedy, Vernon Wilson

Vernon Wilson Kennedy, 70, of Blacksburg, Va., died Sunday, January 24, 2010, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was born in Banner, Va. on August 10, 1939, to the late John and Reba S. Kennedy and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Vera Kennedy. He is survived by three daughters, Diana Kennedy, Cynthia Kennedy, and Samantha Kennedy; a son, Vernon Wilson Kennedy Jr., all of Blacksburg; two sisters, Evon Bergalow, of Richlands, Va. and Helen White, of High Coal, W.Va. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 28, 2010, at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charlie McGlothlia officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Gardens of the New River Valley, Blacksburg with military honors presented by VFW Post 1184. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
