Kennedy, Archie Gale

Archie Gale Kennedy, 61, of Christiansburg, died Saturday, February 2, 2008, at Montgomery Regional Hospital.

He was born in Floyd Co., Ky. on May 3, 1946, and was preceded in death by his father, Luther Wilson Canada. Archie was former owner and operator of Archie’s Produce for over twenty years. He was dearly loved by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie McClintock Kennedy; his mother, Mary C. Sheppard, both of Christiansburg; two sons and daughter-in-law, Jody Egan, of Christiansburg, Jason and Sarah Egan, of Radford; two sisters and brother-in-law, Debbie Thompson, of Bainbridge, Ohio, Kim and Leo Fitch, of Christiansburg; one brother and sister-in-law, Dan R. and Vickie Canada, of Christiansburg; two grandchildren, Dacoda and Bryanna Egan, of Radford; many cousins, nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Helen J. McClintock; and other in-laws, Judy and Robert Simmons, Joan and Jim Neely, Beth and Bob Zamer, Stan and Ann McClintock, Ronnie and Elizabeth McClintock, Pam and Gary Korovich, Carol and Karl Kendl, all of Ohio; special friend, Patsy Berry, of Christiansburg; and a beloved companion, Black Jack.

Memorial services will be conducted Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at 11 a.m. in McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg, with the Rev. David Hurd officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 176, Christiansburg, Va., 24073.
