Kelsey, Cynthia Watkins

Cynthia Watkins Kelsey, 67, of Blacksburg, died Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Heritage Hall Health Care Center. She was born in Richmond on September 10, 1943 to the late Harry Earl and Lysbeth Garth Watkins. Over her life she worked as a registered nurse, a Middle School teacher, and was an accomplished painter. She is survived by her husband, Donald Y. Kelsey, Jr.; a daughter and son-in-law, Beth Kelsey and husband Bud Bennett; and two grandchildren, Selena Bennett and Gabriel Bennett, all of Blacksburg. A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the Christ Episcopal Church with the Rev. Scott West officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Blacksburg Rescue Squad, 200 Progress Street, NE, Blacksburg, VA 24060. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday evening in the Parish Library of Christ Episcopal Church, Blacksburg. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
